The Press Release - Get it Right the First Time, Mr. J. Richard Harris, P.Geol, CPG, CPGS, Harris Consultants Some companies seem to have difficulty comprehending public disclosure in all forms including press releases that must comply with NI 51-101 Standards of Disclosure for Oil and Gas Activities and cannot been misleading no matter in which jurisdiction the release was made. A recent example will be analyzed.
Biography Since 1985, Dick has been an independent oil and gas consultant in Calgary. He has been the president of four public oil and gas companies and has served on the boards of nine other oil and gas or service companies. Dick was a member of the Alberta Securities Commission's Oil and Gas Securities Taskforce that led to the completion of National Instrument 51-101 and he served on the Commission's Reserve Advisory Committee until his retirement from the Committee in 2005. He has presented papers at numerous seminars and conferences on regulatory and technical matters and has served as an outside consultant to a Canadian oil and gas company's reserves audit committee. He is a member of several industry societies and holds the designations of Professional Geologist in Canada and Certified Petroleum Geologist and Certified Professional Geological Scientist in the United States. Dick is a graduate of the University of Texas with B.Sc. and M.A. degrees in Geology. |

Presidents/CEO Night - please invite your President or CEO to the evening dinner and debate. Please note the time of dinner has been changed to 6:00 pm. Debate on the Science of CO2 being the cause of global warming, Dr. Ann-Lise Norman, Associate Professor, Physics and Astronomy/Environmental Science Program, University of Calgary, and Dr. Timothy Ball, Retired Professor, Environmental Consultant, University of Winnipeg.
Dr. Norman will debate the science in agreement. Dr. Ball will present the science supporting the opposing view. Each will have 15 minutes for rebuttal. Questions will be taken after the debate. |
