Member volunteers are the backbone of FEI Canada. They are a vital component to our operations and they are the greatest promoters of FEI Canada. They provide enormous value at both the National and Chapter level, and they are crucial to our various administrative and advocacy committees.
Our recent success would not be possible without the enthusiastic commitment of our volunteer leadership. To recognize the commitment and contributions made by our members to the organization, FEI Canada has initiated the Frank S. Capon Distinguished Service Award.
The Frank S. Capon Distinguished Service Award seeks to identify and reward an FEI Canada member who has had a significant impact on FEI Canada over the years through:
- Promotion of the FEI Canada brand in the marketplace
- Delivery of programs to the membership
- Participation in Chapter or National Committees
Candidates may be nominated by any active FEI Canada member. However, the nomination must be supported by two current National or Chapter Board Members. Nominees must be active or retired members in good standing. The award may also be awarded to a member posthumously.
The nomination period will begin on November 1, 2008 and close on January 15, 2009. Nominations will be reviewed by a panel consisting of the current Chair of the Board of FEI Canada, three past Chairs in good standing and the current President & CEO of FEI Canada.
The nominee selected for The Frank S. Capon Distinguished Service Award will be notified of his or her status on or before February 1, 2009. The award will be presented at the FEI Canada Conference in Montreal in May 2009.
The winner will receive an award from NovaScotian Crystal, free conference registration and travel expenses up to $1,000. A plaque with all the winners' names will be displayed at FEI Canada's National office and the winner's name and photograph will be posted permanently on the FEI Canada website.
