FÉLICITATION À MONSIEUR ROBERT L. NORMAND / CONGRATULATIONS TO MR. ROBERT L. NORMAND
FEI Canada est fier d’annoncer que M. Robert Normand de la section du FEI-Québec a été nommé récipiendaire du prix inaugural de service distingué Frank S. Capon. Ce prix rend hommage à M. Frank Capon, qui fut reconnu pour avoir emmené le FEI au Canada. Il a été membre pendant 57 ans et est le seul membre Canadien ayant demeuré avec l’organisation plus longtemps que n’importe quelle section Canadienne n’ait été en existence.
M. Normand est un haut dirigeant financier d’expérience exceptionnellement doué et très respecté et ce, non seulement au Québec mais partout au Canada et aux États-Unis. Membre de longue date (1976) du FEI Canada, il demeure actif et est reconnu comme un mentor auprès de plusieurs leaders au sein du FEI-Québec. Il a servi à la présidence et vice-présidence du Conseil d’administration du FEI Canada et comme administrateur du Conseil. Il a été à la présidence du Comité de la Conférence canadienne du FEI Canada en 1985 et 1992, et a été un membre du comité de compensation. À la section du Québec, il a tenu les rôles de président, vice-président, trésorier et vice-président des activités.
M. Normand est présentement administrateur professionnel de plusieurs sociétés publiques et privées. Dans le cadre de ses responsabilités d’administrateur, il a servi sur des comités variés : vérification, investissement, fonds de retraite, gouvernance corporative, ressources humaines et environnement. Il a aussi servi en tant que président du Conseil. Auparavant, il a occupé plusieurs postes importants chez Gaz Métropolitain Inc., dont celui de chef de la direction financière jusqu’à sa retraite en 1997.
M. Normand est membre de l’Institut canadien des comptables agréés (1966) et de l’Institut des administrateurs de sociétés.
Cette année, lors de la conférence annuelle du FEI Canada à Halifax, M. Normand sera reconnu pour sa contribution au FEI Canada et à la communauté financière en général.

FEI Canada is pleased to announce that Robert Normand of the Quebec Chapter has been named as the recipient of the inaugural Frank S. Capon Distinguished Service Award. The award honours Frank Capon, who is credited with bringing FEI to Canada. He was a member for 57 years and was the only member in Canada to be with the organization longer than any Canadian chapter has been in existence.
Mr. Normand is an exceptionally talented senior financial executive, highly respected not only in Quebec, but throughout Canada and the US. A long time member (1976) of FEI Canada, he remains an active member and is recognized as a mentor among many of the leaders within the Quebec Chapter. He has served as both Chair and vice Chair of the Board of Directors of FEI Canada, and as a Director of the Board. He chaired the Conference Committee in 1985 and 1992, and has been a member of the Compensation Committee. Within the Quebec Chapter, he has held the position of President, Vice President, Treasurer and Program Chair.
Mr. Normand is currently a professional director for a number of publicly traded and private companies. In performing his Directors’ duties, he has served on various audit, investment, pension fund, corporate governance, human resources and environmental committees and has also served as chairman. Previously, he held several positions at Gaz Métropolitain Inc., retiring as Chief Financial Officer in 1997.
Mr. Normand is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Corporate Directors’ Institute. He has been a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants since 1966.
Mr. Normand will be recognized for his contributions to FEI Canada and the financial community at large at this year’s FEI Canada Conference in Halifax.
