About FEI Canada Membership Categories, Criteria & Fees

Executive Membership

Chief Financial Officers and Audit Committee members of publicly traded companies automatically qualify to join. All other applicants are subject to approval by FEI Canada.

Typical qualifying titles include: Chief Financial Officer, Chief Accounting Officer, Controller, Treasurer, Vice President of Finance, Vice President of Planning and Analysis, Vice President of Taxes, Vice President of Pension Fund Investments, Vice President of Risk Management, Director of Finance, Taxes, Treasury, Accounting, and Audit Committee member.

The applicant’s organization must meet one of the following size criteria: a minimum of either total net worth of $3M or total revenues of $10M.

Individuals may qualify if they have held a senior financial executive position within the past five years from the date of application.

Applicant areas of responsibility and expertise may include: Accounting & Control, Treasury & Finance, Risk Management, Information System, Tax, Internal Audit and Planning & Development.

Note that financial service vendors, including external auditors, bankers, systems information consultants, and recruiters do not qualify for membership with FEI Canada, unless the individual is a senior financial executive with that service organization. *These organizations are encouraged to contact us for sponsorship opportunities.

New Executive members are eligible for a complimentary Annual Conference registration within their first two years of joining.

Dues to join: $1,300 + tax

Dues to renew (annually): $850 + tax

Late fee: $50 will be added to any Executive member when their membership renewal becomes thirty days overdue.

Career Services Membership

The Career Services category is available to existing and new members who are in transition and actively seeking employment.

New applicants should complete the application form using their most recent employment information and provide their resume.

Members may remain in this category for a maximum of two consecutive years. New Career Services members are not eligible for the free Annual Conference registration.

Dues to join: $850 + tax

Dues to renew (annually): $400 + tax

Entrepreneur Membership

An existing member may transfer to the Entrepreneur category if they serve an entrepreneurial role in a start-up, consulting capacity, or are otherwise self-employed.

The reduced dues option of the Entrepreneur category may be exercised for a maximum period of two consecutive years.

Dues to renew (annually): $400 + tax

Academic Membership

An existing member may become, and a prospective member may apply for, the Academic category if they are/become educators of, and have an active interest in, the development of financial management. Applicants must provide a resume.

Applicants must have an academic rank of: Dean, Assistant Dean, Associate Dean, Professor, Assistant Professor or Associate Professor.

New Academic members are not eligible for the free Annual Conference registration.

Dues to join: $400 + tax

Dues to renew (annually): $400 + tax

Charitable Organization Membership

The Charitable Organization category is available to qualified applicants employed by a registered charity with more than $10M in annual revenue.

New Charitable Organization members are not eligible for the free Annual Conference registration.

Dues to join: $400 + tax

Dues to renew (annually): $400 + tax

Retired Membership

Executive, Academic, Career Services, Entrepreneur, or Charitable Organization members in good standing who have retired from active business or the educational field are eligible to renew their membership at a reduced rate.

Dues to renew (annually): $350 + tax

Life Retired Membership

Executive, Academic, Career Services, Entrepreneur, or Charitable Organization members in good standing who have retired from active business or the educational field are eligible for Life Retired membership.

Dues for a Life Retired member who has been a member for over 20 years: $775 + tax. (Chapter dues only are renewed annually)

Dues for a Life Retired member, who has been a member for less than 20 years: $1,375 + tax. (Chapter dues only are renewed annually)

Reinstatement

A former Executive member can reinstate their membership by re-applying to FEI Canada. The Executive membership eligibility criteria apply to reinstatement.

Reinstatement of membership is open to all former members except those censured, suspended, or expelled by the Board of Directors.

Dues to reinstate after more than a one (1) year lapse: $850 + $225 reinstatement fee + tax

Dues to reinstate after less than a one (1) year lapse: $850 + $50 late fee + tax



Membership is granted on an individual basis and non-transferable.  Dues are non-refundable.
